The Effect of Fungicide Unix 75 WG and Insecticides: Nomolt 150 SC and Dursban 480 EC on the Number of Soil Microorganisms and the Physicochemical Properties of Soil
Summary.

The objective of this study was to determine the effect of soil contamination with fungicide Unix 75 WG and insecticides: Nomolt 150 SC and Dursban 480 EC (at a dose of 0, 0.05, 0.5, 5.0, 50, 500 mg·kg-1 of soil d.m. on active ingredient basis) on bacterial counts and on the physicochemical properties (pH, hydrolytic activity, exchangeable cation bases, cation exchange capacity, base saturation of soil, organic carbon content) of Eutric Cambisols with the granulometric composition of loamy sand. It was found that the tested bacterial groups and genera differed in their sensitivity to the plant protection products used in the experiment. The number of ammonifying bacteria, nitrogen-fixing bacteria, Azotobacter spp. and Arthrobacter spp. were also determined by the type and dose of the applied biocide, and the date of analysis. Unix 75 WG, Nomolt 150 SC and Dursban 480 EC inhibited the proliferation of Azotobacter spp., but they had no negative effect on ammonifying bacteria. The proliferation of Arthrobacter spp. was most inhibited by Unix 75 WG, and the proliferation of Azotobacter spp. – by Dursban 480 EC. Soil contamination with the tested fungicide and insecticides had a slight effect on the physicochemical properties of soil. Only Nomolt 150 SC and Dursban 480 EC applied at the highest dose (500 mg·kg-1 of soil d.m.) caused an insignificant decrease in soil pH, exchangeable cation bases, cation exchange capacity, base saturation of soil and an increase in hydrolytic acidity.
