The village character and its landscape are mirrored by the living conditions and spiritual well-being of its inhabitants. They are shaped by generations of experience, the characteristic landscape structure as well as local country tradition. Protecting the country landscape is a problem accompanied by a progressive process of degeneration and change. The primary reasons for this occurrence are changes or even the disappearance of traditional country functions, the uniformity of cultural models and in consequence the disappearance of individualism in building structures within specific regions as well as destruction of the natural environment. The process of protecting and shaping the landscape for the needs of tourism development requires a skillful use of heritage and the specific characteristics associated with the locality, geographical locations, the local population values, the basic economic factors as well as total awareness with respect to cultural values and achievements in a given locality.
