Soils and plants in the Nadolnik park in Poznań
Part II. Content of microelements, cadmium and lead in soil and plants
Summary.

In urban agglomerations natural and anthropogenic stress factors limit plant growth and its development. Optimal fertility of soils and proper nutrition of plants both in the macro- and micronutrients as, inter alia, mitigate the effects of stress. Research (part II) concerned the determination of soil fertility in the Nadolnik park in Poznań in Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, Cd and Pb, and evaluation of their content in the leaves of trees and grasses. Chemical determinations were performed according to the methodology adopted in the studies of soil science and plant nutrition. Regardless of the configuration of the terrain there was low abundance of soil micronutrients and heavy metals in the park. The leaves obtained from plants in reducted area contained more of Fe, Zn, Cu, Cd and Pb, and less of Mn as compared to plants situated on a slope. Accumulation of micronutrients analysed also depended on the preferences of the analysed species of trees and grasses.
