Studies of the level of dustiness in selected industrial mills in the Lublin province
Summary.
The objective of the study was the performance of measurements of dustiness at workplaces in industrial mills and determination of the level of employees’ exposure to grain-flour dust at work. The studies were conducted in six industrial mills in the area of the Lublin province carrying out activity associated with milling cereals. Measurements of dustiness were performed at the workplaces of a miller, packer and unloader. In industrial mills, hygienic standards for dust were exceeded at all workplaces. Work at these workplaces is associated with high exposure to the development of dust-related diseases, in connection with the irritating and allergizing effect of flour dust.
