About a possibility of the use of mixed finite element model for error estimation of classical formulation of the method in two-dimensional steady seepage problems
Abstract.

Error estimation (a posteriori) for obtained numerical results make it possible to improve next solutions up to get the ones that are correct enough. Various techniques of error estimation are used. A new error estimation technique in classical finite element solutions for steady seepage problems, where only piezometric heads are unknown, is presented in the paper. The proposed method is based on a mixed finite element model with unknown components of seepage velocities as well.
