Nutrient concentration in ground and underground water in the Niepruszewskie Lake catchment vulnerable to nitrate from agricultural sources

Summary.

This paper presents results of realized surveys between march 2007 and march 2008 year in the frame of research project nr 2 P06S 026 28. The study relating nutrients concentration in groundwater of Niepruszewskie Lake direct catchment area located in nitrate vulnerable zone. There were used groundwater monitoring data from Voivodship Inpectorate of Environmental Protection in Poznań from point located in north of the lake. Water level in piezometers was checked ones per month and samples of water to analyzing were collected month after the second month. Surveyed groundwater characterizing variable of nutrients concentration were not contami­nated and not carried in pollution to the lake. In some piezometers located on field and grassland borders were recorded increased nitrate concentration, which clearly lessened into the lake direction. Underground water in Kalwy observing point didn’t show doubts, but periodically rise of ammonia was recorded.
