Sewage depollution of zinc and lead concentrate using method of ion exchange
Summary.

In this paper original sewage depollution method is proposed. Sewage came from zinc and lead enrichment process in Mining Factory Trzebionka S.A. Three cation exchangers were used in the research (C-100E, S-940, S-950), furthermore two anion exchangers (Amberlite IRA-400, A400TL) and mixed deposits were utilized. Different analysis methods were used: ICP-MS to zinc and lead ions assay, titrometric method to calcium and magnesium assay, weight method to sulphate assay, Mohr method to chlorides assay. Sulphate ions disposal was taken into special consideration during the process of analysis, zinc and lead ions – negative interaction with the environment (those ions are considered to have toxic, carcinogenic and biogenic properties). The best results were obtained in the method, which used cation exchanger: C-100E, anion exchanger: Amberlite IRA-400 and mixed deposit made of cation exchanger C-100E mixed with anion exchanger A400TL.
