Microbiological contamination of air in large urban areas still increases despite various applied procedures. Taking into consideration the seriousness of the problem, an attempt was made to assess the bacterial aerosol spreading in research points in different parts of Cracow that differ in average annual temperature allowing of the dust concentration and microclimatic parameters. The research was performed in two seasons (in winter and in spring) in one day on 16 measurement points with 6-stage Andersen impactor. The results of the carried out research showed that in most research points atmospheric air in winter and in spring was not contaminated according to the Polish Standard PN-89/Z-04111/02 (1989); the correlation between general number of bacteria and all dust fractions was also proved.
