Growth and flowering of calla lily (Zantedeschia Spreng.) after application of flurprimidol
Summary.

The aim of the experiment was to evaluate the effect of flurprimidol applied directly into soil on growth and flowering of six Zantedeschia cultivars with coloured spathes. Flurprimidol had an effect on flowering, quality of flowers and leaves of cultivars: ‘Sunglow’, ‘Treasure’, ‘Pacific Pink’, ‘Black Eyed Beauty’, ‘Cameo’ and ‘Mango’. Independently of the cultivars the solution of retardant in concentrations of 112.5 and 150.0 mg·dm-3 reduced flowering and growth of peduncles, but had no effect on length of spathe. Flurprimidol had no effect on the number of leaves, but they had shorter petioles, more rounded leaf blades and higher leaf greenness index.
