Using hydraulics conditions for mesohabitat assessment in a river channel
Abstract.
In the work the Mesohabitat Evaluation Model (MEM) was used to identify mesohabitats within river reach within the backwater of the Świnna Poręba water reservoir. The assessment was done for different discharges with and without of the damming up effect. The 2D numerical model was created using field surveying measurements, granulometry measurements as well as water velocity measurements. It was noticed that during increasing water discharge mesohabitat types are changing. It is connected with water management policy in the water reservoir.
