Warsaw reach of the Vistula River Valley is the zone of the alluvia basement protrusion existence. This structure is composed of erosion resistant deposits – covered with residual lag: Pliocene clays, boulder clays, ice dam deposits as well as Pleistocene alluvia. Alluvia basement stabilise deep erosion and cause differentiation of the channel deposition environments what is of crucial importance for the channel infrastructure.
