Estimation of 15 new clones of apple rootstocks
Summary.

The studies were conducted at the Experimental Station of the Poznań University of Life Sciences in the years 2006-2008. The main target of the experiment carried out in a nursery was the evaluation of the efficiency and quality of stoolings of 15 hybrids obtained by hybridization of A.2 and B.9 rootstocks. The best efficiency of stoolings was observed for clone 1, and next clones 15, 3 and 12. The biggest diameter of the root collar was found for the rootstocks of clones 7 and 5, and the number of places the roots grew for clones 3 and 8. As far as the efficiency of stoolings in a nursery, their diameters and number of places of root growth were concerned, clones 1, 3, 5, 6, 12 and 15 were exceptional. The smallest number of lateral shoots had stoolings of clone 13, and the smallest number of thorns were characteristic for the stoolings of clones 8 and 12.
