Does the enhanced UV-B radiation modify chloroplast pigments and phenolic compounds level of the cucumber cotyledons
Abstract.

An influence of the increased UV-B radiation (16 kJ/m2 during 24 h) on the level of chlorophyll a and b, carotenoids and phenolic compounds in cucumber cotyledons was examined. In plants subjected to UV-B radiation content of chloroplast pigments was higher than in the control. Also a stimulation of phenolic compounds was stated, including flavonoids.
