The modern functions of urban parks in the aspect of the social expectations

Abstract. The problem of urban parks was presented in the paper. The functions and the assignment of that parks were described there. Some inhabitants of the town of Olsztyn were asked about their expectations connected with urban parks. The author presented the results of the studies in that paper. Contact with nature, recreation and meetings with other people were the most important social expectations connected with urban parks.
