Effectiveness of weed control in sugar maize cultivation with mixture mezotrione + nicosulfuron

Abstract.

In years 2005-2007 at the Experimental and Didactic Farm at Swadzim near Poznań the field experiments were described of efficacy of weed control of mixture mezotrione + nicosulfuron (Callisto 100 SC + Milagro 040 SC) in sugar maize cultivation. On control plots main species of weeds were: Viola arvensis, Brassica napus, Chenopodium album, Polygonum convolvulus and Echinochloa crus-galli. A specially tested herbicide affected the reduction of fresh weight of weeds. The most useful for applying in sugar maize appeared on control of Ch. album, B. napus and E. crus-galli. The least useful for applying in sugar maize appeared on control of P. convolvulus.
