Tourism and environmental protection

Abstract. Nowadays tourism is very profitable branch of the world economy which is still developing. Sustainable and intensive development alongside with future profit growth in this field are forecast by operating tourism organizations. The existing threat to the environment connected with its exploitation and improper use may bring about both degradation and loss of values that first of all stimulate regional tourism growth. That values in focus are basically natural environment and regional culture. The study concentrates on the problems that tourism brings as well as on solutions that might reconcile values protection and tourism development.
