Durability and adhesion of repairs performed on concrete revetments of earth dams

Abstract. Concrete repairs and protective coatings were applied on concrete slabs located on the upstream slopes of earth dams. Pull-off tests were conducted to evaluate tensile stress capacity of concrete-repair system. Dependencies between: surface preparation technology, failure stress in concrete, percentage of cohesive ruptures in concrete, percentage of adhesive failures in concrete-repair interface and the depth of failure are demonstrated. Case histories of repairs and 8 years perform-ance review are presented.
